Q. Is it possible to get borrowing privileges at Hofstra by making a donation to the library?

Hofstra University Library does not have a "Friends of the Library" arrangement through which a visitor obtains borrowing privileges. 

We do offer an inter-library loan service available to a patron from another library.  In order to use this service, the borrower will contact his or her home library. 

For direct borrowing, there is a "Long Island Library Resources Council" program.  Please contact your local public library or campus library for referral information and specific guidelines.
