Like written sources, images also need to be properly cited.  Images taken from the free Web, an online database, or scanned from a book must be cited in proper form.  Images from royalty-free clip art need not be cited.  To get some tips on how to cite an image, go to the Hofstra LIbrary Homepage and click on "Subject Research Guides."  When you open this tab you find will a list of subjects; choose "Fine Arts/Art History" and then "Finding Digital Images."  Within that guide click on the tab for "Citing Images."
