The Encyclopedia Judaica, published in 2007, is the most current general encyclopedia on Judaism. The Jewish Encyclopedia, also held in print at Hofstra, represents scholarship in the early 20th century. This last work is also held online at JewishEncyclopedia.com. It is not, therefore, current.
The American Jewish Yearbook, which Hofstra holds in print from 1927 onward may also be useful. The American Jewish Year Book is also maintained open-access online by the American Jewish Committee.
To locate them Please go to the Library homepage at www.Hofstra.edu/Library > Search the Catalog. If searching by title, do not enter the words "The" or "A" or "An" at the beginning of the title. If searching by author, enter last name followed by first name.
The Religion libguide has a tab for Jewish Studies which can direct you to more information. It is found under Guides & Tutorials on the University Library homepage.
