Hofstra University Library purchases textbooks for some, but not for all, classes. To find out if one has been purchased for your course search in the online catalog. Please go to the Library homepage at www.Hofstra.edu/Library > Search the Catalog.  If searching by title, do not enter the words "The" or "A" or "An" at the beginning of the title.  If searching by author, enter last name followed by first name. Recently purchased textbooks for current courses are usually held in Reserve. Ask for them at the circulation desk. They can do additional searching for you, as can a reference librarian. Sometimes the textbook may only be foudn undder the name of the professor for the course. You will only be allowed to keep them out for a few hours. Older textbooks may be held in circulation. Be sure to check the publication date, or the edition number, to make sure you have the right edition. Older versions may not be up-to-date or contain the information your course requires. Pagination may also differ by editions.
